A Mix of Masculine and Feminine...

Although this trend has been around for a couple of seasons, it's still going strong.

Military inspired clothing and accessories just seem to add an air of authority, don't you think?

The clean and polished look means it can be worn anywhere. Paired with more feminine pieces, it adds a softer, more feminine look (note the lace tights).

Look for well cut coats with brass buttons and other interesting details.

Edgy...

Over the next few posts, I thought I would cover the looks you're going to be seeing a lot more of this winter.

One of those looks is the thigh high boot. they are in my opinion extremely sexy (not to mention, warm) ...a definite must have this season. Of course it would help for the weather to cool down just a bit!
They add a bit of 'attitude' to almost any outfit. Just be careful to avoid the "trashy" and go for the "classy"...personally, I would stick to the suede and leather variety, the pvc's...well...let's just say they're not for me!

I love Sex and the City, and with so many of us anticipating the arrival of Sex and the City 2 movie, we are excited to see what the fabulous foursome will be bringing in the way of fashion...I have a sneak peak...Sarah Jessica Parker's character, Carrie Bradshaw spotted sporting a new Adriana Castro Eva Clutch from the Resort 2010 line!

Where I'm not a fan of the combination of the sequined dress with this clutch, Carrie is known for her statement pieces, and could quite possibly be the only one who could carry this off!

I would pair this lovely clutch with a simple black dress or possibly, dark skinny jeans and a tee shirt!

Beauty Trends....

In general, I am not a fan of practicing most of the latest beauty trends...they tend to be a bit over the top and some are just not flattering! I do however, think it's good idea to know what these trends are. So here is what I found...

Hair is getting bigger frizzier (really?!?) maybe just a little crimping this season?

In my opinion, smokey eyes never go out of style, but techniques do change. This season try adding splash of color to your smokey combination.

Choose your color! Lips can really make a statement...the key? Keep the rest of your look simple and let the lips do the job!

Guilty Pleasures....

Guilty pleasures are the little things that make life just a wee bit better. So why not indulge once in awhile! Even our First Lady has admitted to her one of her indulgences; french fries! Even suggesting that she would eat them every day if she could!

It is strangely comforting to know that Michelle Obama has a few guilty pleasures! Mine?

Mint chocolate chip ice cream, manicures and pedicures, sushi, and mojitos.

The one thing I find great pleasure in, but absolutely no guilt about, is resale shopping. Which I partake in quite regularly!
